I am always on the lookout for places to buy fabric and notions. On a previous post, I lamented over a shop closing in my area that I truly miss! A couple different places have opened since, but just not the same…One day I’ll let it go or maybe I’ll open my own, who knows!
After having my own Etsy shop for several years now, Etsy really has become my go to for supplies. I have found several reliable places to order from and love that I’m supporting a small business. Ordering fabric on the internet can be scary thought, but trust me you can do it! It helps to be familiar with designers/brands, so the quality of fabric won’t be a concern. I have found two fabric shops and one notion shop I regularly order with. I have several others, but I’ll save those for a different post!
1. Fabric Shoppe is great! You will find all of the good brands (Moda, Kaufman, Art Gallery, etc) with cuts ranging from fat quarters to yardage and reasonably priced. Quilting cotton, Kona cotton, flannel and more is available. They also sell scrap packs with different themes/colors that are great for making small items.
2. Curly Girl Fabric is awesome too! Fat quarters to yardage are available and reasonably priced. Also, all the good brands! I’ve ordered several times now and my overall experience has been good. They are also easy to work with when something is wrong too. I was sent an incorrect yardage of fabric (very similar looking to what I did order) and they were more than happy to send out a replacement at no charge. Fast shipping, all the good brands and great customer service!
3. iSewing– This shop has all things notion! Presser feet, marking tools, needles, etc. and all reasonably priced. If there is something I can’t find locally, usually I’ll find it here.
I hope you will try Etsy for your next sewing supply spree! You won’t be disappointed!
If you are familiar with any good ones, please post in the comments. I’m always on the hunt for good fabric 🙂
Happy Shopping!
Susan
