I have always loved make-up and beauty products, but as of late I am becoming more and more concerned with how and where the products we use are being made. What triggered this beauty quest you ask? Well, I don’t recall exactly, but my best guess would be seeing the no animal testing label or something I read. Regardless, I’ve become obsessed with finding kinder and more gentle beauty. I initially thought this was going to be difficult, but it turns out there are lots of companies who are cruelty-free. The ones below are four of my favorites. They are free of all the bad chemical stuff (mineral oil, petroleum, sulfates), not tested on animals, and are made in the USA. So, win, win, win! Get ready to enjoy more beautiful and healthy skin! 😊😊
- Pacifica Sea Foam Complete Face Wash, $10- Available from Ulta, Target, and sometimes the higher end grocery stores. This great face wash is sulfate free (that’s the bad stuff that creates lather and suds) and uses coconut water, sea algae to remove makeup. It smells awesome and their packaging is just beautiful! Pacifica also makes a couple of great micellar waters as well, if you are into double cleansing like me 😊 One of my favorite brands, they have lots of good products!
- Limelight Scrubtini, $34-Available from Limelight by Alcone or contact a beauty rep. Limelight is a new brand to me, but it hasn’t taken me long to love them. They have really great skincare products. This scrub smells divine and will leave you feeling moisturized. It uses sugar as an exfoliant, so it is gentle and won’t make you feel like it’s scrubbing your skin off. (Ladies or gents, I know you have used scrub that is too rough before! ) Coconut oil, shea and olive butters, and lemon-verbena oil will leave you feeling hydrated. As a bonus, if you know someone who sells Limelight, you are supporting their small business!
- C.Booth 4 in 1 Vanilla Body Butter, $9.99-Available at Ulta, Target, and higher end grocery stores. Uses malic acid to exfoliate, sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil and shea butter to hydrate. Antioxidant vitamins and minerals protect from the environment and caffeine to firm. Smells awesome and is non-greasy, absorbs quickly. I love it!
- SheaMoisture Coconut&Hibiscus Bath, Body and Massage Oil, $11.99-Available from Ulta, Target, and higher end grocery stores. Add it to bathwater for a relaxing soak or apply it directly after showering. Loaded with good stuff like coconut oil, jojoba oil, safflower oil, and borage flower oil. It smells lovely and absorbs quickly, very hydrating!
Enjoy 😉
